Welcome!

First post of our wedding blog... This is just a little project for me (Nikki) to keep track of & share info about my & Jess' upcoming wedding. We'll be getting married on May 16, 2008, in St Lucia in a small beach ceremony. Our guests include Jess' good friend Steve & his wife Kristina, my old roomie Christy, and our close friend Brad, who also happens to be the reason Jess & I met.

Jess proposed to me on September 12, 2007, at a San Francisco Giants game. We had talked at a game a few weeks earlier about how cheesy Jumbotron proposals are, and out of irony Jess decided to do exactly that. We had originally hoped to get married while I did my assistantship in France, but after plenty of research we concluded that it was just too much hassle: gathering forms, getting everything translated, the cost of Jess flying over & the amount of time he'd have to take off of work. Luckily the honeymoon package we booked in St Lucia included a free wedding ceremony, so it's working out after all! We're planning a reception back in California sometime in September, but for now we're just concentrating on getting ready for the beach wedding!

Here is my dress

I'm planning to go barefoot, as we'll be on the sand. Hair will likely be down, with a few strands pulled back, and wavy. I'm contemplating getting a veil, and still deciding about jewelry/accessories. It's all so exciting!
